Romantic, sensual…and easily made:  Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

One of the most romantic, sensual foods you can give your sweetheart is also one of the easiest recipes you’ll ever make, Easy Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. Combining the lusciousness of big juicy strawberries with a smooth, chocolaty dip is almost decadent. It pleases both the chocolate lover and the fresh fruit lover. Fortunately for you, I just happen to have an easy recipe for Chocolate Fondue Dipped Strawberries for you to share together, or if you prefer to make them in advance, an added recipe for Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

This recipe differs from the Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberry recipe, also on this page, in that it’s not prepared in advance and it’s a shared activity. Wash up the fondue pot and forks, set a romantic table with candle light and feed each other chocolate dipped strawberries with the fondue forks. Feeding each other can become a very sensuous experience WARNING: this may result in a very romantic evening.

Need a Fondue Pot? Here’s The Perfect Choice, Available Below On This Page

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

  • 1 pound washed and hulled strawberries
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 6 to 8 ounces semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Here’s What You Do For Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

Place last three ingredients into fondue pot (or in a heat proof dish into a larger dish of hot water) at least 15 minutes before serving, stirring occasionally until smooth. Be careful not to get water into the chocolate or it will “seize,” making it too hard to use for a dip.

Place tray of washed, hulled strawberries close by fondue pot or dish. Make sure the berries are well dried before using them.

Put out a small plate and fondue or other fork for both participants.

Dip a strawberry, feed it to your loved one. And wait for him to feed one to you. Romantic? Oh Yes! A beautiful experience with your sweetheart and Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Chocolate COVERED Strawberries Made In Advance

These Berries Are Made and Refrigerated In Advance

For a romantic night with your sweetheart, make this recipe early in the day and refrigerate until ready to serve (by candlelight to make it more romantic!) Set the table early in the day, and light the candles just before serving. It gives you more time for getting yourself ready for a beautiful evening.

These are actually different from the fondue Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. They’re slightly different in ingredients and made in advance and refrigerated. You don’t need a fondue pot for them. Just remember to wash and dry them thoroughly before applying the chocolate, leaving the stems and leaves on. That gives you a place to hold during the coating process. Some folks remove the stems and use toothpicks inserted into the strawberry for holding, but I find this is sometimes a bit “iffy,” and the strawberry slides off just when I’ve got it well-covered with chocolate, then I’m digging in the chocolate for the fruit. That’s why I like the stems left on, they work best for me and they’re clean once you’ve washed the berries. Besides, the touch of green gives the chocolate covered berries extra color and glamor.

You Can Fancy Them Up Too!

Make these Easy Chocolate Covered Strawberries plain or fancy. If you prefer to fancy them up a bit, try drizzling them with the white chocolate or reverse the process and drizzle with the semisweet chocolate. You might also sprinkle some crushed almonds or flaked coconut onto the chocolate while it’s warm. Whatever your choice, they’re sure to be enjoyed.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels

  • 6 ounces white chocolate morsels (optional for decoration)

  • 1 pound strawberries with caps

 Chocolate Covered Strawberries

  1. Make sure strawberries are washed and thoroughly dry before beginning.
  2. Place chopped semisweet chocolate into a heatproof medium bowl.
  3. Place chopped white chocolate into heatproof medium bowl.
  4. Fill two medium saucepans with about 2 inches of water and bring to a boil.
  5. Turn off heat, set the bowls of chocolate into the top of the saucepans, being careful not to allow any water to seep into bowls.
  6. Stir until smooth.
  7. Line a sheet pan with parchment or waxed paper.
  8. Holding each strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the semisweet chocolate, lift and twist slightly, letting excess fall back into bowl.
  9. Set dipped strawberries on parchment or waxed paper.
  10. To decorate with white chocolate, dip a fork into white chocolate and drizzle over the semisweet dipped strawberries.
  11. You can also reverse this process, dipping with white chocolate and drizzling with semisweet.
